01 · The idea
A winter together in the Alps.
From January to March 2027, nine people live and work together in a 19th-century villa at the foot of the Rax, ninety minutes south of Vienna. Snow outside, a warm house inside, and time to work on the things that matter to you.
We're not looking for guests, but for people who stay, contribute and help shape what this place becomes.

Who we're looking for
Artists
Visual, performative, digital. Room to make a mess and a hall to show it.
Musicians
Composers, producers, sound people. There's a sound lab, a piano and a stage.
Researchers
AI, science, anything that needs deep focus and good conversations at dinner.
Builders
Web3, decentralized systems, hardware. A maker hall with laser cutter and 3D printer.
Thinkers
Philosophers, economists, writers working on how we live together next.
Storytellers
Filmmakers, podcasters, journalists: people who carry ideas out into the world.
03 · The house
A villa built in 1860, run by the people who live in it.
Once a countryside inn, then an artist colony, since 2023 the Commons Hub: a home for artists, hackers and tinkerers. Over the winter, the house belongs to its residents.
Expect cozy communal living: shared dinners, long conversations, occasional snowball fights, DnD nights, and the option to help renovate parts of the house.

Simple terms
Shared room
€250 / month
A bunk in a shared room. Cheaper and more social.
- Included · heating, electricity, water, Wi-Fi, VAT
- Not included · groceries (we cook together and share costs)
- Duration · the full three months are encouraged

05 · Surroundings
The Rax valley
The Rax massif rises straight out of the valley: winter hikes, ski tours, frozen waterfalls in the Höllental gorge. Reichenau an der Rax is a short walk away.
Getting here: train from Wien Hauptbahnhof to Payerbach-Reichenau in about 75 minutes, then a short ride up the valley. No car needed.
